All disputes welcome
Mediation offers a practical and cost-effective way to try to resolve stressful conflicts quickly, whether or not a lawsuit has been filed. I began my practice of law in 1983 and retired in early 2026. I worked on complex legal and technical issues as well as community disputes and issues that may be emotionally charged. I have also been a mediator since 2012. As a mediator, I draw on my legal experience to help parties take a clear-eyed view of the risks involved in their position. I help parties navigate a course to mutual resolution in a respectful and safe setting.
Often, the parties can address issues and achieve results that a court lacks power to resolve, or cannot do in a timely manner, and can avoid a lot of legal fees and costs. The earlier the involvement of a mediator, the less rigid the parties’ positions may be, and the more likely both parties will benefit through early resolution of the matter. Litigants can face lengthy delays in resolving their disputes. Delays hurt both sides and run up the cost of litigation.
A key benefit of mediation is that resolution is dependent on the parties reaching a decision on their own. There is no decision or order forced upon them. The risk of an adverse outcome at trial is eliminated.
I have volunteered as a Settlement Master for the Santa Barbara Superior Court in over 150 cases since 2019, helping resolve many legal disputes approaching trial.
Mediation offers a chance to move a case toward resolution now. I offer mediation services to address all types of disputes. Call today to discuss how I might be able to assist you. I use Zoom, which allows everyone to participate efficiently and safely from home or office.
I am dedicated to helping parties in conflict find common ground to resolve their dispute.
